How do I get my Certificate?

First of all you need to complete a quick questionnaire so that we can improve the course as others before you have done.

A nationally recognised certificate for the industry sector you undertook is provided as a PDF file which you can print out at the end of the training or login from another computer and print later or save and print.

Once you complete the course to view the certificate go to the "My Courses" page and click on "My Certificate" link on the left, then follow the prompts.

Is my old certificate still valid?

Food safety certificates and national unit RSA certificates do not have expiry date; however there is a requirement that qualifications are ‘current’. Certificates must contain a nationally-recognised unit code appropriate to your industry. Your OLGR RSA training course certificate is valid for 3 years.

RSA:

What RSA course do I need to do?

Please check State requirements to see what course you need to undertake. Remember there have been changes to requirements in Queensland since 1 January 2009.

I have purchased my course(s) but have not received the email with the course enrolment code?

Please check your "spam" or "junk" email folder for the email with your course enrollment codes. If you find the email in there you will need to move it to the "inbox" for the links to work (this is a security thing). You can either drag and drop the email or right click and choose "move to . . .” then select the ‘in box’.

How do I save where I am up to?

When you login and do the course the system will remember where you are up to so that if you come back later you can start from that spot. If you do not wish to do your training in one sitting you can log back in from any computer. Also a different user can train on the same computer and it will resume where they left off too. Simply click ‘yes’ when prompted to resume where you left off.

I want to do an RSA bridging course for Queensland what existing certificates can I use to Bridge from?

I come from overseas and want to come to Australia for a working holiday. I wouldn't mind doing some bar work if I need some extra party cash. Can I do the training in my country so that I don't have to think about study while I am having the time of my life?

No worries mate, but Australia has different laws in every state and territory so you need to check the state requirements, or choose to work in a state that does.

Food Safety:

How long does the online food safety unit take to study?

The online training and assessment modules take approximately 4 hours to complete, although most people don’t complete them in one session. The program allows you to do a little or as much as you want. When you have finished your session please “log out” then it remembers where you are up to each time you log back in. The workplace practical assessment is due 10 days after the online section is completed. You can log in and out as many times as you wish.

What types of assessment will there be in food safety training and where?

Each online section of the training has a set of assessments relating to that section; these are either multiple choice or industry specific case study questions which assess your knowledge, once you successfully complete the online sections you will need to complete an assignment in the workplace (or simulated workplace if you don’t work in the industry). This assignment is designed to assess your practical skills and is observed by a third party observer to verify the competencies required by the unit.

Once the assignment is complete you can fax, email or mail you assignment and an assessor will assess your assignment and notify you by email within 3 working days.

Who can be the observer for the practical skills checklist and who will be assessing me?

The online component of the course assesses your knowledge and the workplace assessment assesses your practical skills in the workplace (or simulated) environment.

The 3rd party observer needs to be suitably qualified and/or experienced in food preparation. This can be someone who is already a Food Safety Supervisor or someone who has had at least 5 years experience in food preparation. The observer will have to provide evidence of their certificate or their experience. The observer may be under direct supervision via phone by a qualified assessor from CFT.

The observer needs to include comments about what they observed, sign off the assessment, and return it to CFT with the other parts of the workplace assignment; CFT’s assessor may contact the 3rd party observer to validate the observations.

Is my old food safety certificate still valid?

Nationally recognised Statement of Attainments (certificates) do not have expiry date; however there is a requirement that qualifications are ‘current’. Certificates must contain a nationally-recognised unit code appropriate to your industry.

Contact your council to check if they will accept the code and the date of your certificate.

I am interested in doing the follow workplace hygiene course or the food safety supervisor course and need a certificate within a week. How can I do this?

Go to www.qld@cft.com.au where you can register and begin your training online right away. After you have finished the online assessment, you will need to complete an assessment of practical skills, which can be comfortably completed within a few days.

This assignment then needs to be sent to CFT either by fax, email or post and an email will be sent to you giving you permission to print your certificate once you are assessed as competent.

None of these have answered my question
